Replica Panerai Luminor Marina models come in steel and carbon composite, mostly 44mm, a few 42mm. The Luminor Marina PAM1312 is the plain one to start with: a black dial, a blue small seconds hand and a steel case. For a lighter dial there is the white PAM1314, and for colour the deep blue PAM1393 in 42mm or the green PAM1116. The Carbotech PAM1661 and the Fibratech PAM1119 swap polished steel for a matte black or grey case.
The GMT models add a hand for a second time zone, and it works as a real one in all three tiers. The PAM441 has a black Ceramica case and a brown strap, the PAM1033 a sunray blue dial, and the PAM1279 puts a blue GMT dial in a 44mm matte grey carbon case. The Luna Rossa PAM1096 has a red GMT hand on a black dial. For a big plain watch, the Luminor 1950 PAM372 is 47mm with a black dial. Our Panerai Luminor 1950 replica guide explains the 1950 case and the GMT and power reserve functions.
Every Luminor here comes in three tiers. A Grade, the entry level, pairs a Chinese movement with mineral crystal. AAA brings a Japanese Miyota movement, sapphire crystal and, on the steel models, a 904L case. SuperClone is the closest to the original, with an automatic movement built to Panerai's own design, a 72-hour power reserve and sapphire crystal, and it is the usual pick for models with a display caseback. The product page lists the tiers for each model, and our guide to the three tiers compares them.
A Luminor wears larger than its number because the crown guard adds width. Under a 17.5cm (6.9in) wrist, start with 42mm; from 17.5 to 19cm, 44mm; above 19cm, 44 or 47mm. A 44mm steel Luminor weighs about 155g. The size guide covers every case from 38 to 47mm, and the Luminor Due is the thinner option.
